a quiet spot

this post has been bouncing around in my head the past few days.
not sure what to share, how much to share.

these days life is a blur. well, it always seems like a blur.
but now, it's more blurry than normal.

i'm struggling to write the gifts
to find time to delve in with the Lord
to find time to just be with my husband.
to find quiet and peace.

i'm in this mindless rut.
of just living,
and there is no reason for it.

so instead of wallowing, i'm getting myself out.
by writing the gifts, and seeing the good.
one small gift at a time.

have you ever gotten yourself in a rut?
how did you get out?

  1. This might sound crazy, but...I went to work at Disney World! A little extreme (but my rut was extreme), but it helped me break out of the sad place I was in and focus on others in a way that I wasn't able to do otherwise.

I think the most important part of my experience was the change of scenery. Do something new, go somewhere new, meet someone new, etc.

  2. Yes, you're not the only one. I've defintely felt this way. I usually keep busy, with something, and it makes me feel productive, even though I know this is just a false sentiment. Going back to school to pursue my bachelor's degree has helped though.

  3. I'm totally in a rut. Been here for a few years. I need to make big changes but not sure what or how. Good luck to you! :)
