if you asked me..

...I would tell you that I'm so frustrated and clueless with how to fix this blogger RSS thing. Are my posts showing up in  your reader? How are you getting here? And does ANYONE know how I might fix this?

...I would tell you that I am excited to have a weekend here in Houston just Sam and me.  It will include lots of watching Lost, (we just started...a bit late, but are COMPLETELY addicted), staying in pajamas,
and maybe a little thrift store and old navy shopping to pick up those key pieces!

...I would tell you that spring break flew by way too fast. Just going to work was such a nice relief.

...I would tell you I am currently obsessed with a few things
  1. the band Fun. bought the cd, it's on repeat. oh, and they will be in Houston next Tuesday.
  2. fruit and fruit dip. marshmallow fluff and cream cheese--mix in equal parts. you're welcome
...I would tell you I went running yesterday and this change of seasons does my heart so much good. Fresh air, wind in the face, and I feel like a new person. I'm ready to welcome spring.

hey, it's okay

a blog friend posted a list like this yesterday, and I couldn't resist doing one myself.  because this week has had lots of things that can make the list.

IT"S OKAY..

...if today is a celebration because all the interns are gone.

...if I put on my pj's as soon as I walk in the door at 5pm.

...if I'm not quite sure of my life plan

....if I'm a tiny bit nervous about classes coming up

....if our dinners this week have been whatever's easiest

...if I have blogger, pinterst, and etsy open all day long

....if family vacation to galveson next week gets me through the day

Unplug

Hi friends!
We have made it to Friday, and I could not be more thankful.

I am so excited about all the new friends and people I am meeting through blogging!  There are so many kind bloggers out there with sweet generous hearts.  I am loving all the sweet comments and encouraging words that so many of you have to say.  I am loving all the news ways I am seeing Jesus work in those close to me and far from me.  I love seeing sisters worshiping him in all walks of life.  I love the wisdom from those who are wiser than me, and I love reaching out to those in the same place as me.

But, I am so ready to UNPLUG.  I am ready to  turn by brain off and just focus on my husband.  (Who, by the way, comes home TONIGHT!!)  I am not going to worry about commenting, reading, or posting.

I can become so easily overwhelmed by blogging.  So many ladies who seem to have it all together in their real lives and "blog" lives.  It can become a place for me to compare, and not a place to worship. And when it feels like work and trying so hard and not just an outlet to let Jesus shine, then it's time to unplug.

So for the weekend, I'm unplugging.  I am napping with my husband.  I am sleeping late.  I am reading the words of my Savior and letting Him work in me.  I'm living satisfied in the life I have here.

and if you didn't win the giveaway this week or just want to secure yourself a little something, go shop with the code WINNERS for 30% off.  because I love you all.

I'll see you Monday morning refreshed.

friday, come sooner

I have friday off this week.
so of course, it's dragging it's heels to get here.

I have so much I want to do with a whole day off!
is it just me that plans time off?
someone, tell me it's not just me.

First, I want to make these kale chips.
Samuel and I both love veggie chips, and it would be so much better to make them and not pay for them.
and, I would know exactly all the ingredients that are in them.

Then, I need to make a ton of rosettes.
Paint my nails like this:
make some handmade laundry soap and dish soap
and I am dead set on finding some good garage sales around Houston.  I want to get some cute stuff to add to my DIY projects.

and if there is still time in this crazy day a little time by the pool wouldn't hurt.
