running in the quiet

I run without music.
yes, yes, yes, all those miles in the silence.

I have been getting a lot of weird looks about this recently.
but running is some of the most peaceful moments my mind has.
my body may be aching, screaming, and altogether throwing a huge hissy fit.

but my mind is quiet.
focused solely on getting one foot in front of the other.
and breathing.

there is no more worry about school
no more worry about where to live
no more thoughts about work

just utter quiet.
and peace for my soul.

  2. I found out last year that running with out music really bolstered my prayer life :-). It helped me take time to focus on my relationship with God. Sometimes I ended up singing to Him anyways!

  3. Oh I definitely applaud you. When I run I need something to distract myself from thinking, "Just quit! Just stop. Don't put that foot in front of the other!" Good for you, girl.

  6. I often run without music, too! I actually get my best ideas while running without music. And it's the best time for praying. :)

I have Costco's Cuisinart. It is cheaper than the same exact model on their website but it has MORE horsepower. A steal! Please let me know if you have any more questions! 5thbelleblog@gmail.com Have a wonderful day!
